Award in Understanding the Principles and Practices of Assessment
This course is for trainers and assessors who need to understand the assessment. It is essential knowledge for those who intend to support the delivery of vocational qualifications and apprenticeships. It will provide an understanding of the principles and practices of assessment.
The training is based on the content of the unit: Understanding the Principles and Practices of Assessment. It comprises a one day workshop which will introduce the following:
- The role of assessment in the training cycle
- The principles of effective assessment and the assessment process
- Commonly used assessment methods and their application
- The role of the assessor
- Matching assessment to different contexts
- Quality assurance within the assessment process
The course is available either as a bespoke course or via one of our open courses. Courses can be arranged and run at short notice anywhere in the country. There are no specific entry requirements. The qualifications are suitable for learners of 18 years of age and above.
To achieve the qualification learners need to successfully complete a unit based assignment.
The cost of achieving this qualification starts at £400 plus vat: covering attending an open course, unit assessment, IQA and Awarding Organisation fees. Bespoke courses are costed on an individual basis depending on exact requirements, with discounts for bulk orders.
