Level Level 4 Diploma in Learning and Development (competence-based qualification)
This programme of learning is designed specifically for anyone who wants to gain recognition to their competence as an advanced training practitioner or manager. For those with training experience it will refine their skills and knowledge and lead to a nationally recognised qualification in learning and development.
The programme is formed of two parts.
Part one will be a two day training session will introduce the mandatory and optional units that form the qualification. The knowledge and skills required to demonstrate competence will be introduced so that learners are clear about what is required to achieve the qualification.
The course will be practically biased throughout. It is available either as a bespoke course or as an open course run at various venues around the country.
Part two of the programme is formed of a period of self-development. Each learner will receive an assessment plan which will detail the actions required to complete their personal development against the units that form the qualification. Learners will be expected to complete a range of assignments and collect evidence to demonstrate their competence.
The assessment of learners will follow this and will involve ensuring that the evidence presented meets the requirements of the specified standards.
It is expected that learners will complete this development process within 6 months of starting the programme.
