Patrick McDaniel BSc CF
Training Development SpecialistPatrick McDaniel is the founder of RI Training and has worked in training and development consultancy for over 35 years, helping organisations design, develop and implement effective training, assessment and quality assurance systems. He specialises in competency-based training, instructional design, assessment, internal and external quality assurance, digital learning and e-learning development. Throughout his career, Patrick has led the development of training programmes, professional standards, competency frameworks and digital learning solutions for employers, training providers, awarding organisations and professional bodies.
Patrick has supported training and workforce development initiatives across sectors including: healthcare, manufacturing, maritime, agriculture, arboriculture, fisheries and aquaculture, construction, aviation and professional education. While his consultancy experience spans many industries, he has a particular interest in the land-based sector and sustainable fisheries and aquaculture.
His practical approach combines strategic consultancy with hands-on experience in designing learning programmes, developing training resources and implementing quality-assured training systems that improve organisational capability and workplace performance.
Patrick is the co-founder of SwiftTrack Digital, where he combines his training consultancy experience with innovative digital learning to provide a digital competency assessment solution.

Barbara Cam BSc (Hons) PGCE
Development learning, and education specialistBarbara has worked in the field of training and development for 32 years. She has extensive experience in training needs analysis and the consequent development of education and training solutions on a variety of international projects. Barbara’s strengths lie in the development of coherent curriculum development and the production of creative ideas to optimise learning, dependent on individual and collective learning styles.
Sarah Colmar MSc BSc
Quality Assurance and Training SpecialistSarah has worked as a training and development consultant for 35 years. She has a passion for developing qualifications that support the growth of industries and their staff. Much of her work has been associated with quality assurance within education and training.
Alan Stephens
Skills Training SpecialistAlan has worked in the Forestry/Agricultural industry for 36+ years and as an instructor/assessor providing skills-based training for the past 22 years. Alan is also qualified as a Health and Safety Practitioner. As an associate, Alan is able to ensure our skills-based training programs are realistic, effective and achievable.
Tania Mulder BSc (Hons) PGCE
Educational SpecialistTania is a qualified teacher and has worked in education both on a full and part-time basis for the past 32 years. She has been an active member of the RI team for the past 20 years. She has a thorough understanding of education and the development of effective educational resources. She has worked with RI on projects developing qualifications, assessment systems and training and e-learning materials development. Tania forms an important part of the project development team, briefing and supporting associates who are engaged in work with RI.
David Price HND
IT DeveloperDavid has 30 years’ experience working with computer systems and web development and has been involved in web design and hosting, e-learning development, bespoke and open source CMS design, database programming, application training and Moodle training, consultation and installation. David also has teaching qualifications and associated experience, and this additional experience has proved to be invaluable in understanding and instigation of projects such as online learning environments designed to support and be used by ‘non-technical’ employees and learners.
