RI Consultancy
RI Consulting offers specialist consultancy services, including fisheries and aquaculture consultancy, providing industry-specific support to organisations operating in these sectors. Our work combines technical knowledge, training development and research experience to support sustainable development within fisheries and aquaculture industries.
Our consultancy reflects the origins of RI Training and continues to influence the wider training and development work we deliver today.
Background and Experience
RI Training was founded by Patrick McDaniel, who holds a degree in Fisheries Science from Plymouth Polytechnic and has a long-standing commitment to the fisheries sector.
Patrick began his career working in fisheries development projects in West Africa, including work in Sierra Leone, where projects focused on supporting small artisanal fishing communities. These projects demonstrated that sustainable development depended not only on technical improvements, but also on the ability to communicate new ideas effectively and develop the skills of the people working in the industry.
This early experience led to a strong emphasis on training, workforce development and practical learning, which continues to shape our consultancy work.
Since the early 1990s Patrick has delivered fisheries development projects in both the UK and overseas, building a respected reputation for practical, industry-based consultancy.
Over the past 35 years RI has developed into a multi-purpose consultancy and training business while continuing to work extensively within fisheries and aquaculture.
