A quality system should do more than describe how assessment is meant to operate. It should provide confidence that training has been delivered to the required standard, assessment decisions are sound, risks are recognised, problems are addressed and certification is supported by valid evidence.

RI Training provides an independent review of assessment and quality-assurance systems for awarding organisations, training providers and assessment centres.

The review offers an experienced external perspective on the design and operation of your arrangements. It identifies strengths, gaps and priorities for improvement before they affect learners, clients or confidence in your provision.

Why commission an independent review?

An independent review can be useful when:

  • preparing for awarding-organisation or regulatory scrutiny;
  • introducing a new qualification, centre or delivery model;
  • taking on additional centres, sites or subcontractors;
  • learner numbers or certificate claims are increasing;
  • changing awarding organisation or assessment system;
  • concerns have been raised about evidence or assessment decisions;
  • policies have accumulated but the complete system has not recently been tested;
  • managers want assurance that documented procedures are being followed; or
  • the organisation wants to improve its approach before a problem occurs.

The service is intended to support improvement and provide constructive challenge. Being a “critical friend” and asking the questions. 

It is not presented as an Ofqual inspection, awarding-organisation audit or guarantee of regulatory compliance.

A review based on vocational assessment experience

RI Training brings more than 35 years of experience in competence-based training, assessment and quality assurance. Our work has included vocational qualifications, assessor and quality-assurer development, occupational standards, competency frameworks, awarding organisations and digital evidence systems.

We also deliver nationally recognised assessor, IQA and EQA qualifications, accessed through Enable Assessment and certificated by ICQ. This allows the review to consider not only whether procedures exist, but whether the people operating them have the knowledge and practical capability required.
