While out at Sea last weekend I was able to view one of our client’s Jack-up barges in action. It was interesting to see as we have been working with IJUBOA (International Jack Up Barge operations Association) on the development and implementation of a professional qualification for Barge Masters. IJUBOA are utilising the SwiftTrack evidence collection App with Barge Masters using the App to record the evidence required to achieve their barge master qualification. In the near future, Apprentice Barge Masters will be using the App to collect evidence as part of their Apprenticeship.
The Barge in the picture It is owned by Red Seven Marine and is supporting the development of the Hornsea 3 renewable power supply off the North Norfolk coast. Red7 Marine is a core member of IJUBOA and the team at Red7 have been instrumental in the successful implementation of the Barge Master SwiftTrack App.
It was interesting to see the barge and its support tugs in operation just off the coast. Just a shame their safety boat would not let us get any closer and limit my fishing activities for the day!
