Trainer Training – For Pitkin and Ruddock

East Anglia’s leading refrigeration and air conditioning company, Pitkin & Ruddock, has taken a major step forward in enhancing its HR and workforce development efforts. The company has successfully implemented the SwiftTrack software to support its HR and training functions, and to further strengthen this initiative, they have partnered with RI Training to develop their newly appointed training manager

Recognising the importance of training and workforce development for the company’s future, Pitkin & Ruddock has made significant investments, including the construction of a bespoke training facility in Bury St Edmunds and the recruitment of a dedicated training manager. The newly created role aims to enhance the company’s ability to deliver cutting-edge workforce development programs tailored to meet both current and future needs.

To ensure the new training manager is fully equipped to deliver on this mandate, a bespoke Level Four Training Trainer Programme was designed by RI Training. The comprehensive programme, built on industry standards, is focused on strengthening the manager’s skills across key areas of workforce development.

The six-part training programme included:

1. Principles of Learning and Development: Introducing the fundamentals of the training cycle and its implementation, including an overview of the roles and responsibilities of training professionals.

2. Training Needs Analysis: Covering both individual and organisational needs assessment, linked to competency standards and the identification of training requirements.

3. Training Resource Development: Focusing on the creation of training programmes, courses, and learning resources, emphasising the development of skills, knowledge, and behaviours.

4. Training Delivery: Introducing core training techniques, with a focus on the role of the trainer as a facilitator of learning in the workplace.

5. Assessment: Introducing basic assessment techniques, highlighting the assessor's role in supporting workplace learning and development programs.

6. Evaluation: Exploring methods to evaluate and measure the impact of training, linking outcomes to business strategy.

This initiative marks a significant investment in Pitkin & Ruddock’s workforce development strategy, positioning the company for continued success in an increasingly competitive industry. Through the development of a robust training function, Pitkin & Ruddock is committed to supporting the growth and expertise of their workforce, ensuring they are well-prepared for the challenges and opportunities ahead.
