Case study: Red Ensign Moodle learning platform

Red Ensign Training was an MCA-approved supplier of STCW training to the maritime sector.

Red Ensign Maritime Training required a digital learning platform to support the delivery and assessment of the approved maritime training programmes it offered.

RI Training designed and developed a Moodle learning platform together with supporting SCORM training content aligned to the Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA) and Seafish Industry Authority requirements.

The organisation gained a robust online training environment capable of delivering accredited maritime learning programmes while improving learner access and operational flexibility. The mandatory assessment process linked to the various courses was completed using the standard Moodle quiz programming.
