Case study: Defra bovine tuberculosis (BTB)Biosecurity

The Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) supports the Government’s 25-year strategy to eradicate BTB in England.

Defra required an e-learning solution to promote bovine tuberculosis (BTB) biosecurity best practice amongst cattle farmers.

We worked with a number of subject area specialists to develop a series of bespoke SCORM learning packages that translated technical biosecurity guidance into practical, action-focused digital learning suitable for agricultural audiences. The programme prioritised clarity, usability and relevance to day-to-day farming operations.

The finished training solution was a Moodle-based learning platform that promoted greater awareness of BTB biosecurity measures and helped communicate best-practice guidance in a format accessible to farmers across the sector.

The e-learning, which is a key component of the UK Government’s strategy, is the implementation of a simple five-point plan supporting the education of current and future cattle farmers about best practice and the application of good biosecurity.
